How a Jaguar Smart Key Works
Jaguar smart key enables you to lock and unlock your vehicle from a distance. Like all electronic devices, it is powered by batteries.
If your Smart Key battery is beginning to fail, your car may signal this by an increase in the range of its signals. The message center can also display an alert "SMART-KEY BATTERY FAILS".
Keyless Entry
With this feature, you will be able to access your Jaguar without having to search through your purse or pockets. The system uses proximity sensor to detect the Jaguar Smart Key, which will automatically open your XE. When you are near the vehicle, simply grab any door handle, it will open and then disarm. You can lock your vehicle by pressing the handle of the door, or the key fob after you leave the vehicle.

Panic Alarm

To activate your vehicle's panic mode, press the button on your Smart Key with a headlamp symbol three times within three seconds. The vehicle will be illuminated by lights for a duration of 25 seconds and sound the alarm five times in order to deter an offender. After pressing the button, it will turn off the panic alarm.
You can also use the Jaguar Activity Key without the Smart Key inside to lock and unlock the vehicle. Simply place the Activity Key on your wrist, switch off the engine, close all doors, and then hold your Activity Key until you reach the Jaguar emblem on the tailgate. Your vehicle will then be secured, and your hazard lights will flash to show that your vehicle is secure.
If your Smart Key fob battery is running low, you will hear a warning sound and see the message "SMART Key Battery Low" in the message center of your vehicle's display. Remove the chrome cover from the key fob and slide out the CR2032 batteries. Replace them with a new one in the opposite direction.
Increased Security

Jaguar offers keyless entry features on a variety of models, which means you don't have to search for your keys before you head out for your Irvine commute.
